Resident hunters can begin purchasing deer and antelope permits on July 8 at 10 a.m. Central time, with nonresident permits becoming available on July 22. Permits can be acquired online, in person at a Game and Parks office, or via mail, preparing hunters for the fall season.
Fort Robinson State Park has officially opened its new aquatic facility, operating daily from noon to 7 p.m. The facility features a 310-foot dual-tracking racing waterslide, a stagecoach slide, and a dump bucket, all designed with an Old West theme. The park also reopened its hiking and equestrian trails, advising caution near areas affected by the recent South Fork Fire.
Additionally, conservation officers will increase their presence on Nebraska waters from July 3-5 for Operation Dry Water. This annual campaign focuses on reducing alcohol- and drug-related incidents and fatalities, aiming to raise awareness and deter impaired boating through enhanced enforcement efforts.
