Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, along with Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik, today announced an investment of over $5 million to bolster workforce partnerships across the state, connecting Ohioans with in-demand careers.
A total of 22 workforce partnerships will receive $5,065,368.46 through the Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) Grant Program. These collaborations target high-demand sectors such as manufacturing, construction, skilled trades, insurance, information technology, transportation, and healthcare.
Governor DeWine emphasized the economic impact, saying, “A strong economy starts with a strong workforce. These partnerships are helping Ohioans connect with new career opportunities while ensuring employers have the talent they need to grow and succeed.” Lt. Governor Tressel added that "Great things happen when people come together, and Industry Sector Partnerships bring employers, educators, workforce leaders, and more to the same table to help Ohioans prepare for meaningful careers."
Industry Sector Partnerships unite businesses, educators, and community leaders to address regional workforce needs and strengthen local talent pipelines. Director Mihalik noted, “When businesses, educators, and community organizations work together, communities grow stronger.” Since 2019, Ohio has invested $22.7 million in 121 such partnerships. The ISP program complements WorkOhio, an initiative providing personalized support for job seekers, with more information available at Workforce.Ohio.gov/ISP.
