The Washington Post is reporting that Israeli forces launched an airstrike targeting a Hezbollah commander in Beirut’s southern suburbs. It said this is the first attack near the Lebanese capital since a U.S.-brokered ceasefire began last month. The outlet said that while fire was exchanged in southern Lebanon, Israel had previously refrained from striking Beirut and Hezbollah had not attacked Israeli territory.
