The Washington Post is reporting that Bernie Sanders, a prominent supporter, has urged Democratic candidate Graham Platner to withdraw his bid for the U.S. Senate in Maine. Sanders issued a statement recommending Platner step aside "in light of these very serious allegations." He said he had spoken with Platner about "the best path forward for Maine" before making his recommendation.
