Arlington County police are investigating a shooting that injured five people at a home in the Arlington View neighborhood during the early morning hours of September 26, 2026.
At approximately 2:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 10th Street S. for the report of shots heard. On arrival, they found multiple individuals suffering gunshot wounds inside a home and began providing aid, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
Medics transported three victims from the scene and two additional victims self-reported to the hospital. One victim, an adult female, sustained serious injuries and is in stable condition. The other victims — two adult males and two adult females — sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect left the home after being involved in a dispute during a house party. He later returned, brandished a firearm and discharged multiple rounds, injuring the victims, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers canvassed the area with the assistance of a police helicopter and K9 but did not locate the suspect. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing denim.
"This appears to be an isolated incident and the investigation has not indicated an ongoing threat to the community," police said.
