Three Charged in Interstate Kidnapping and Ransom Scheme

A federal Grand Jury has indicted three individuals in connection with an interstate kidnapping conspiracy that saw a victim transported from New Hampshire to Vermont and held for ransom. U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan announced the charges against Damarcus Bonner, 30, Tyron Harris, 27, and Nicole Palardy, 37, of Claremont, New Hampshire.

Bonner and Harris face charges of Kidnapping and Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping, while Palardy is charged with Conspiracy to Commit Kidnapping. All three were previously in Vermont state custody since January and are now held in federal custody. The indictment alleges the defendants kidnapped an adult victim in Claremont, New Hampshire, and transported her to a Springfield, Vermont residence.

For approximately 24 hours, the victim was allegedly held against her will, tortured, beaten, and subjected to ransom demands from her and others. Springfield Police rescued the victim and arrested the defendants in the early morning hours of January 25, 2026. A search of the residence uncovered a firearm, drugs packaged for distribution, duct tape used to bind the victim, and items associated with torture.

The FBI is leading the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Vermont State Police, Springfield, Vermont Police Department, and Claremont, New Hampshire Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Vicinanzo is prosecuting the case, which carries a potential sentence of up to life in prison. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
