The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today it will accept large philanthropic contributions of readily tradable public company stock to support Trump Accounts, ahead of the program's formal launch on July 4, 2026.
This new process allows eligible philanthropists to transfer approved publicly traded stock to Treasury, which will then be contributed to Trump Accounts for eligible children according to donor instructions and applicable law. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, “Today’s announcement makes it easier for philanthropists to help American children build long-term financial security.” He added that accepting stock contributions creates “a practical pathway for large-scale private giving to support the next generation.”
Trump Accounts are designed to help eligible children begin saving and investing early in life. The program has already seen significant interest, with over six million families signing up prior to its official launch this month.
