TIME is reporting that Harvard psychologist David H. Rosmarin argues therapists are too quick to encourage clients to go "no contact" with family and friends. Rosmarin writes in a Saturday essay for TIME that such advice can be damaging and a missed opportunity for individuals to develop crucial psychological capacities like emotion regulation and conflict negotiation. He noted that in over two decades of clinical practice, he only directly recommended divorce once in an extreme case of abuse.

Separately, TIME is investigating whether the U.S. is currently experiencing a surge in foodborne illnesses. It also reported that a Pew survey found one-quarter of Americans use AI chatbots to diagnose their symptoms. Additionally, The Guardian is explaining the germy risks associated with "wild swimming" in lakes and rivers.
