The Washington Post is reporting that Graham Platner, the 41-year-old ex-Marine and Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine, has been accused of sexual assault. A woman who said she previously dated Platner alleged in interviews that he sexually assaulted her in her home near the end of 2021. Platner posted a video on X after the allegation surfaced, denying wrongdoing. He stated that he and his team are "taking the time to reflect on the best path forward for the state that I love, the people that I love, the movement I belong to, and the goal of defeating Susan Collins."
