The week began on Monday, August 17, with Governor Sanders joining Buc-ee's CEO Arch "Beaver" Aplin III for the grand opening of the new Buc-ee's location in Benton. She participated in a ceremonial ribbon cutting alongside U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, U.S. Representative French Hill, Lieutenant Governor Leslie Rutledge, and other state and local officials. Later that day, Governor Sanders delivered remarks at Caterpillar Inc.'s workforce development announcement in North Little Rock and toured the manufacturing plant. She also participated in a trucking roundtable discussion at Maverick Transportation, where she drove a semi-truck training simulator, emphasizing the importance of the trucking industry with Senator Cotton and federal and state transportation leaders.
On Tuesday, August 18, Governor Sanders met with Jokey Group CEO Jens Stadter and leadership at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion in Little Rock, discussing economic development opportunities. She also met with 2026 Miss Arkansas Ava Weeks.
Thursday, August 20, saw Governor Sanders co-hosting an Arkansas Maternal Health Roundtable at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. Joined by Olivia Walton, Founder of Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America, and Dr. Nirvana Manning, the event was hosted by the Arkansas Center for Women and Infants Health, UAMS, and the Arkansas Hospital Association, focusing on vital maternal health initiatives.
The week concluded on Friday, August 21, with Governor Sanders, First Gentleman Bryan Sanders, and their children hosting the Arkansas Undefeated Party at the Governor’s Mansion.
