The Library of Congress has unveiled "The Source," a new experimental research gallery designed for young people, featured in the latest issue of The Library of Congress Magazine (LCM). The bimonthly publication highlights the Library's initiatives, talented staff, and vast resources.

The Source aims to spark discovery, allowing young visitors to become budding researchers. The July-August 2026 issue also includes stories on a newly rediscovered film by iconic French director Georges Méliès, the first images of Yosemite, and a mysterious book of incantations made from bark.

Additionally, the magazine features the acquisition of over 350 Gil Evans scores, including his collaborations with Miles Davis, enriching the Library's jazz collections. The rediscovered Méliès film, unseen for over a century, was found among crumbling nitrate negatives.

Digital versions of LCM are available online, and the Library also hosts several exhibitions for visitors.
