U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 121 individuals identified as illegal aliens during "Operation Corral Light" at the "El Corralon" nightclub in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 30. The multiagency enforcement operation targeted individuals with criminal histories, including offenses such as larceny, drug possession, domestic violence, and child endangerment.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, "Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, crime in the city of Memphis has plummeted. A big part of that success comes from arresting and deporting illegal aliens in the city." He added that the operation led to the arrest of "child abusers, drug traffickers, and violent assailants."
ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New Orleans Acting Field Office Director Scott Ladwig said, "This criminal enforcement operation to arrest illegal aliens and eliminate drug activity in our community is part of the highest priorities of this administration." The United States is offering illegal aliens $2,600 and a free flight to self-deport, an offer officials encourage individuals to take.
