Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Hamilton County following severe weather that began on June 29, 2026, making state resources available for recovery efforts.
This proclamation immediately activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program. The Individual Assistance Grant Program offers up to $7,000 to eligible households for expenses such as home repairs, car repairs, personal property replacement, food, and temporary housing, provided their income is up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Original receipts are required for reimbursement.
Additionally, the Disaster Case Advocacy Program provides support to individuals facing disaster-related hardships, offering guidance and referrals without income eligibility requirements. This program will remain active for 180 days from the proclamation date. The proclamation itself is effective for 30 days.
