U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, swiftly responded to a multi-vehicle rollover crash on June 29, successfully rescuing a 31-year-old woman trapped in her vehicle.
The incident occurred when a car ran a red light at an intersection, colliding with another vehicle. The collision caused one car to roll over onto its driver’s side and strike a light pole, pinning the driver inside.
ICE law enforcement officers, who were preparing for an arrest nearby, heard the crash and immediately went to investigate. Upon finding the accident, one officer called his team to the scene and instructed them to call 911, before they began rendering aid to the trapped driver.
Working together, the officers managed to free the woman and pull her to safety. Paramedics and police arrived shortly after the rescue. Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis commended their actions, saying, "These ICE officers ran to help a woman who was trapped after her car rolled over after being hit by a car that ran a red light." Bis added, "Our ICE officers truly are the best of the best."
