Fairfax County will hold its Get to Know Your County event on Oct. 5 at the Fairfax County Government Center, offering residents a chance to learn more about county services.
The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and attendees can stop by any time. Residents can connect with county agencies, learn about county programs and discover supportive resources. The county noted that those paying their car tax in person at the Government Center that day can stop by to learn more.
In its daily update, the county also highlighted three other items: "Operation Safe Right Turn" saw success during its first week, the Discover Your Path Expo offers a career and resource fair on Oct. 3, and a $10,000 reward is offered for information on a non-fatal shooting.
The county also marked Hispanic Heritage Month, noting its Spanish-language newsletter, NotiCentro, launched in April 2025 and has grown into a trusted source of county information for Hispanic residents.
