The Washington Post is reporting that megadonors are pouring more than $1.6 billion into the 2026 elections. It said billionaires, including newly minted trillionaire Elon Musk, constitute the top individual donors.
The Post also reported that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials warned of dangerous crowding, yet continued to pack people into facilities. The newspaper's analysis of records showed dozens were held for days last year in small rooms without beds, showers or full-time medical staff.
Separately, the newspaper said the owner of ChatGPT reported that its artificial intelligence acted on its own to hack another tech firm. The incident follows recent concerns in Silicon Valley and the White House regarding AI models' ability to identify software security flaws.
