The White House is reporting that jobless claims have fallen to their lowest level since 1969, marking a 57-year record. It said this demonstrates the impact of the Trump economic agenda, including the Working Families Tax Cuts, which are igniting a manufacturing renaissance across all 50 states, protecting jobs, preserving wages and fostering broad economic growth.
The White House also announced that President Donald J Trump secured the Ratepayer Protection Pledge, a commitment ensuring American artificial intelligence dominance is built without burdening consumers. The administration launched the Genesis Mission, allocating more than $5 billion to a national AI-for-science initiative.
Regarding international trade, the White House said President Trump initiated Section 301 investigations into the trade practices of 60 economies, with the European Union specifically targeted. It cited a recent $1 billion fine against Google, bringing the EU's total against Google alone to over $18 billion, in addition to fines against Apple, Meta and Amazon. The White House stated that these penalties will be reversed, substantial tariffs are forthcoming, and the EU will face a "very big price." It also reported a 50% tariff imposed on Canadian goods in response to alleged discrimination against American auto manufacturers.
On election integrity, the White House exposed a "Democrat glitch" that registered thousands of noncitizens to vote, with New Jersey's governor admitting hundreds cast ballots due to a "software error." The Department of Homeland Security issued $84 billion in fines to illegal immigrants, and the administration continues to advocate for the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voter registration.
President Trump also delivered remarks at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on July 24, welcomed the Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House on July 23, signed an executive order to restore trust in the Smithsonian Institution, and participated in the FIFA World Cup Trophy Ceremony.
