Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) Chief Kevin Davis announced the promotion of Christina Burrow, Christopher Cosgriff, Deanna Weand, and Kevin White to the rank of Major, recognizing their significant contributions to the department and community. Chief Davis said, "Our department is stronger because of the dedicated individuals who choose to serve their community with professionalism, integrity, and selflessness. Their commitment and contributions have made a lasting impact on both our department and the residents we serve. We are grateful for their service and the example they set for others."
Major Christina Burrow will now command the Mason District Station. Joining FCPD in 2011, her career includes roles as a patrol officer, detective with the Major Crimes Bureau, and supervisor at various district stations and the Internal Affairs Bureau. Most recently, she commanded the Crisis Intervention Team, overseeing CIT training and the Co-Responder program. Major Burrow also serves as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, with operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Christopher Cosgriff has been appointed Executive Officer of Operations. Starting with FCPD in 2013, he served as a Patrol Officer and on the Neighborhood Patrol Unit. His previous roles include supervisor at Mason District Station, overseeing recruiting and the Special Response Unit, and serving as the Internal Affairs Bureau’s Investigations Liaison. Prior to law enforcement, Major Cosgriff founded The Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc., a non-profit honoring fallen officers.
Major Deanna Weand will lead the Franconia District Police Station. Her FCPD career began in 2005 as a 9-1-1 operator, progressing through various supervisory and command assignments, including supporting Body Worn Camera implementation and commanding the Community Engagement Division. She also commands the FCPD Honor Guard and instructs the Women’s Self-Defense Program.
Kevin White has been promoted to Commander of the Reston District Station. Since joining FCPD in 2003, Major White has served as a Patrol Officer, Neighborhood Patrol Officer, and supervisor at McLean District Station and Internal Affairs. He led the department's accreditation efforts and the Overdose Investigations Unit, and served as Assistant Commander for the Organized Crime & Narcotics Division and the Civil Disturbance Unit.
