U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested numerous individuals described as "worst of the worst" criminal illegal aliens across the country during the Independence Day weekend, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
These arrests included individuals convicted of severe offenses such as murder, sexual exploitation of a minor, forcible sexual abuse, kidnapping, and drug trafficking. Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis highlighted the efforts, saying, “While Americans celebrated the 250th anniversary of the greatest nation on earth, the brave men and women of ICE were arresting the worst of the worst, including multiple murderers, pedophiles, rapists, kidnappers, drunk drivers, drug traffickers, and other dangerous public safety threats.”
Bis added that ICE officers work continuously, even on holidays, to enhance community safety. She attributed the increased capacity to "President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill," which has provided an additional 12,000 ICE officers, stating they "will continue delivering on the American people’s mandate to make our nation SAFE AGAIN."
Among those arrested were Radimir Thompson-Nagle from Panama, convicted for murder and assault in Brooklyn, New York; Marcos Rubio-Hernandez from Mexico, convicted for second-degree murder and kidnapping in Wilson County, North Carolina; and Gabriel Garret Conceicao-E-Conceicao from Brazil, convicted for sexual exploitation of a minor in Provo, Utah. Other arrests included individuals from Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic, facing convictions for crimes ranging from aggravated burglary and assault against a police officer to drug possession and distribution.
