The Arlington County Police Department announced significant road closures for the 24th Annual Police, Fire, Sheriff, & ECC 9/11 Memorial 5K race, scheduled for the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event will impact roadways around the Pentagon and in Crystal City, urging motorists to plan for delays and seek alternative routes.
Road closures will begin as early as 3:00 p.m. and extend until 9:00 p.m. for Army Navy Drive between S. Eads Street and 12th Street S. Additional closures, from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., include S. Eads Street, S. Fern Street, S. Hayes Street, and parts of S. Joyce Street, Columbia Pike, S. Washington Boulevard, Route 110 S., and Marshall Drive. Several ramps from I-395 N. will also be affected.
Traffic congestion is anticipated along the race route and surrounding areas. Attendees are encouraged to utilize Metro or other multi-modal transportation options. For those driving, paid parking will be available at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City garage.
Street parking in the affected zones will be restricted, with temporary "No Parking" signs in place. Illegally parked vehicles face ticketing or towing. Motorists whose vehicles are towed can check an online portal or call the County non-emergency number at 703-558-2222 for assistance.
