The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board is reporting that Dr. Anthony Fauci is now facing increased scrutiny regarding his actions during the Covid-19 pandemic, noting he took the Fifth Amendment. It said Fauci had largely dodged such examination previously.
The board also highlighted Kevin Warsh, a former Federal Reserve governor, who advocates for a firm 2% inflation target. It said Warsh believes the Federal Reserve should pay close attention to signals from financial markets.
Separately, the editorial board reported on New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, who has published the names and addresses of individuals he is targeting with a new property tax proposal.
Finally, it noted a significant tax moment for Missouri, where an Aug. 4 ballot measure proposes to phase out the state income tax.
