The Social Security Administration has announced a change in the operational status of its local offices, card centers, and hearing offices across Montana.

Residents are encouraged to check the current status of their local facilities before planning a visit. The agency noted that many individuals may not need to visit an office in person, as a wide variety of business can be handled directly through their online portal.

Through the agency's website, users can review their personal information, including their latest statements, earnings history, and estimated retirement benefits. The platform also allows individuals to check the status of existing applications or apply for new retirement, disability, and Medicare benefits.

Additionally, beneficiaries can manage their accounts online by updating their address, setting up or changing direct deposit details, and printing proof of benefits or replacement 1099 forms. Those needing further assistance can access frequently asked questions, appeal medical decisions, or request replacement Medicare and Social Security cards without leaving their homes.
