U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced significant improvements to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) disaster assistance and commodity loan programs, marking the one-year anniversary of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. President Donald J. Trump signed the Act into law on July 4, 2025.
These enhancements, part of the "Farmers First" commitment, aim to strengthen support for various agricultural sectors. The USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) will bolster disaster assistance for livestock producers, orchardists, and nursery tree growers.
Additionally, the FSA is increasing Marketing Assistance Loan rates and expanding these loans to provide better assistance to cotton and sugar producers.
