NIH to Host Roundtable on Women's Health and Data Science

The NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) will host its next Women’s Health Research Roundtable on September 24, 2026, focusing on “Women’s Health and Community-Based Data Science.” This virtual webinar, scheduled from 3:00 – 4:00 PM EDT, aims to explore how community-engaged data science can enhance women's health outcomes.

The session will highlight practical applications, including improvements in statewide sickle cell disease care and machine-learning approaches for understanding endometriosis. Attendees can also earn free CME credits.

Featured speakers include Dr. Paula Tanabe from Duke University, an expert in improving sickle cell disease treatment in emergency departments, and Dr. Marina Sirota from UCSF. Dr. Sirota, Interim Director at the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute, specializes in computational integrative methods for disease diagnostics and therapeutics, particularly in women’s health, and co-directs a center for precision medicine for endometriosis.
