The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported mixed employment trends across U.S. states in April. Unemployment rates decreased in three states, increased in two states, and remained stable in 45 states and the District of Columbia.
Nonfarm payroll employment saw an increase in six states during April. The remaining 44 states and the District of Columbia experienced essentially no change in their payroll employment figures, according to the latest "State Employment and Unemployment (Monthly)" news release.
