Former Anchorage attorney Justin Facey pleaded guilty today to drug trafficking charges involving fentanyl and methamphetamine, facing a potential prison sentence of 10 to 40 years.
Facey, 46, was arrested on May 21, 2025, following a federal grand jury indictment that accused him of using his Anchorage residence to distribute and use controlled substances. The indictment also alleged he possessed four firearms to further his drug trafficking activities. He admitted to one count of possessing drugs with intent to distribute.
Court documents reveal Facey was suspended from practicing law on February 24, 2025, due to numerous bar complaints. Previously, he operated his own defense practice in Anchorage. His sentencing is set for October 6, 2026, where a federal district court judge will determine the final sentence.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska has been recused from the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven D. Clymer from the Northern District of New York appointed as Special Attorney. The investigation was conducted by the DEA Anchorage District Office and FBI Anchorage Field Office, with assistance from the Anchorage Police Department.
