Bryce White, a 42-year-old man from Dow City, Iowa, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for sexual exploitation of a child and receipt of child pornography, following his guilty plea on January 21, 2026.
Between August 2023 and August 2024, White used Snapchat, posing as a minor, to coerce dozens of minor females into sending him sexually explicit images and videos. He sent over 95,000 messages to more than 1,400 unique users across the United States and overseas, receiving 14 videos, 180 images of child sexual abuse material, and over 20,000 images of child erotica. The material included depictions of sadistic or masochistic conduct, as well as prepubescent children and toddlers. White also communicated to at least one minor that “when she was legal” he would “come get her.”
The investigation began in September 2023 after a complaint from parents in Midland, Michigan. Law enforcement traced the Snapchat account to White, leading to search warrants for his electronics. United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand imposed the 420-month sentence, along with a 10-year term of supervised release, noting there is no parole in the federal system.
This case was a collaborative effort by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Midland County Michigan Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kraig R. Hamit. It falls under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative dedicated to combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
