Governor Kay Ivey announced her support for appealing a federal court decision that temporarily blocked Alabama's 2023 congressional redistricting map.

Federal judges halted the map's use, prompting Attorney General Marshall to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. Governor Ivey expressed hope that the Supreme Court will allow the August 11 Special Primary Election to proceed.

"Alabama knows our state, our people and our districts best," Governor Ivey said.
