The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested several individuals identified as "criminal illegal aliens" in New Jersey last week, highlighting their criminal histories and criticizing "sanctuary politicians."

Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said that ICE officers are "hard at work removing criminal illegal aliens from New Jersey" despite what she called "false smears" about ICE detention facilities. Bis noted that those removed had criminal histories including "voluntary manslaughter, sex assault, burglary, fraud, terroristic threats, and aggravated assault."

Among those arrested between May 25 and May 30 were Marcos Delacruz, with convictions for sex assault and fraud; Success Bounte, with convictions for robbery, burglary, and identity theft; and Jose Manuel Rivera-Mes, convicted of voluntary manslaughter. Other individuals arrested had histories involving terroristic threats, assault, and burglary.

Bis urged "sanctuary politicians" to "stop peddling false smears" and "start thanking ICE law enforcement officers for getting these thugs off New Jersey streets." DHS affirmed its commitment, stating, "We will not let violent rioters slow us down from making America safe again."
