The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has released its latest economic publications for the week of July 27–31, 2026, providing updated data on employment costs, metropolitan area job markets, and business employment dynamics. These reports offer crucial insights into the nation's labor landscape.
Among the key findings, "The Economics Daily" highlighted a 5.5 percent job openings rate in Georgia and 5.4 percent in Alaska during 2025. It also reported that 52.5 percent of workers in financial activities teleworked in June 2026, and employer costs for employee compensation in the Miami area averaged $37.84 in March 2026.
Additional data showed that 65 percent of Americans born between 1980 and 1984 received some form of work training from ages 18 to 38. Furthermore, women’s median weekly earnings were 82.3 percent of men's in the second quarter of 2026. The "Monthly Labor Review" also featured analyses on skills-based occupational data and the impact of employment changes on the Employment Cost Index.
