The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that compensation costs for civilian workers increased by 0.9 percent, seasonally adjusted, from March 2026 to June 2026. This latest Employment Cost Index news release highlights continued growth in worker remuneration.
Over the year ending June 2026, total compensation for civilian workers rose by 3.4 percent. Within this period, wages and salaries saw an increase of 3.2 percent, while benefit costs experienced a larger rise of 3.8 percent, indicating a broad-based increase in employee remuneration.
