Mayor Karen Bass has urged Angelenos to utilize city resources to stay safe as an extreme heat warning takes effect on Tuesday, August 25, at 10:00 AM. The warning is scheduled to remain in place until Friday, August 28, at 8:00 PM.
Hundreds of city libraries, recreation centers, and other locations are available for residents seeking relief. This includes nine dedicated cooling centers operating with extended hours, which are also open to pets.
