The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported the shallow quake occurred at a depth of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). Its epicenter was located approximately 105.6 kilometers (65.5 miles) southeast-southeast of Atka, Alaska, and about 1800 kilometers (1116 miles) southwest of Anchorage.
