COLUMBUS, Ohio – Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Simon “Si” L. Leis, Jr., a distinguished public servant who served as Hamilton County Prosecutor, Court of Common Pleas Judge, and Sheriff. The directive mandates that the United States and Ohio state flags be lowered from sunrise to sunset on July 10, 2026, the day of his funeral.
The order applies to all public buildings and grounds throughout Hamilton County, as well as the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes Tower. Public buildings and grounds across the rest of Ohio may also fly flags at half-staff at their discretion during the same period.
Governor DeWine issued the order to commemorate Leis's life and extensive service to the state and Hamilton County.
