Fairfax County Government has launched "Ask Fairfax," a new generative AI chatbot designed to enhance customer service and simplify access to county programs and services. This innovative tool provides easy-to-read, conversational answers by drawing information directly from fairfaxcounty.gov.
"Ask Fairfax" supports multiple languages and replaces the county's previous Fairfax Virtual Assistant, though traditional search options remain available. The county said this initiative reflects its commitment to using generative AI responsibly to improve residents' experience navigating local government resources.
In other county news, registration is now open for residents to receive up to two free trees. This program, a collaboration between the Fairfax County Urban and Community Forestry Division and the Arbor Day Foundation, aims to help lower energy costs, create wildlife habitats, and foster healthier neighborhoods.
