National Farmers Market Week will be celebrated on Friday and Saturday at markets in McLean, Kingstowne, Burke, and Reston. Visitors can pick up a Farmers Market Passport, engage with vendors, and enter a giveaway. Concurrently, Virginia's three-day sales tax holiday allows shoppers to purchase qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star and WaterSense Products without sales tax. The Summer Entertainment Series will also continue throughout the weekend, showcasing performances by groups such as Mother's Little Helpers and Bela Dona Band.
Specific events include Campfire Fridays at Lake Fairfax Park, offering nature walks, animal presentations, and s'mores. On Saturday, the Reston Regional Library will host a Chinese Dance Performance by Greater Washington Chinese Dance, while Lake Accotink Park features "Nature's Hidden Heroes" and "Super Snakes" for wildlife enthusiasts.
