Corey Johnson, 36, of Alexandria, Louisiana, pleaded guilty on June 9, 2026, to willfully conveying a bomb threat to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and was sentenced to one year of probation.
The incident occurred on November 7, 2025, when Johnson became involved in a dispute with airport personnel over parking fees. After leaving the area upset, he twice called AVCOM, the airport’s operations center, claiming a bomb was present and threatening the operator.
Investigators from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation quickly linked the threatening calls to the parking dispute, identified Johnson, and arrested him. Johnson admitted to making the calls during the investigation. U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle praised the collaborative efforts of the investigating agencies, noting the case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat violent crime.
