The United States and Ukraine have signed an agreement on April 30 to establish the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund. This partnership aims to leverage the resources of both countries to boost Ukraine's economic recovery, acknowledging the support provided by the United States since Russia's invasion.
The Treasury Department and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), under President Donald J. Trump's leadership, will collaborate with the Ukrainian government to finalize the program's governance.
U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent said, "Thanks to President Trump’s tireless efforts to secure a lasting peace, I am glad to announce the signing of today’s historic economic partnership agreement between the United States and Ukraine establishing the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund".
Bessent added that the agreement sends a clear message to Russia about the U.S. commitment to a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine. He also stated that no one who supported the Russian war effort will benefit from Ukraine's reconstruction. Both nations are eager to implement this partnership.
