Over 140 neighborhoods across Fairfax County recently celebrated National Night Out, an annual event designed to strengthen community bonds and promote public safety. The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) joined thousands of residents for an evening filled with block parties, cookouts, games, music, and family-friendly activities.
Held annually on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that aims to build stronger partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The event provides a relaxed setting for residents to meet and interact with officers who patrol their neighborhoods, fostering conversations that build trust throughout the year.
FCPD officers actively participated in events county-wide, engaging with residents by joining dunk tanks, playing soccer with children, posing for photos, sharing meals, and answering questions. These interactions highlighted the strong partnerships that contribute to making Fairfax County a safer place for its residents and visitors.
