The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) reminds non-profit organizations that the deadline for two significant grant programs, Arts and Humanities Education Projects (AHEP) and Field Trip Experiences (FTE), is approaching. Submissions for both programs are due by 5 pm ET on Friday, July 24, 2026. These initiatives aim to foster progress in the arts and humanities, enhancing the District of Columbia's status as a world-class cultural capital.
The AHEP grant program supports non-profit arts, humanities, arts education, and service organizations. It encourages projects of all sizes that demonstrate District impact and engage District children, youth, educators, and older adults aged 50 or older. This program is crucial for expanding cultural and educational opportunities across the community.
Similarly, the FTE grant program assists non-profit arts or humanities presenting or producing organizations. Funding covers field trip tickets, professional development for classroom educators, and pre/post-field trip workshops for students. It also allocates support for personnel involved in program planning and implementation, with the applicant organization required to be the producer of the field trip experience.
