July Jobless Rates Decline in 10 States, Payrolls Largely Stable

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that unemployment rates decreased in 10 states during July, while remaining stable in 40 states and the District of Columbia. This data comes from the latest State Employment and Unemployment news release.

Regarding nonfarm payroll employment, only one state saw an increase, and one state experienced a decrease. The remaining 48 states and the District of Columbia reported essentially unchanged payroll figures for the month.
