Fairfax County property owners who do not pay real estate taxes through a mortgage company must submit their first installment by July 28. This deadline applies to a significant portion of homeowners in the county, ensuring timely collection of local revenue.
Payments can be conveniently made online via MyFairfax or the mobile payment site. Property owners also have the option to enroll in the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) plan for automatic payments, which will cover the second installment due in December.
In other community news, Fairfax County Animal Shelters will host a "Clear the Shelters" event from August 21 to 23. During this period, adoption fees will be waived for all pets at both the Michael R. Frey and Lorton campuses. Adopters of cats or dogs aged six years or older will also receive a $250 care credit at Pender Veterinary Centre, aiming to surpass last year's adoption total of 180 pets.
