A Chicago man, Morrell Steven Neely, 65, has been found guilty of wire fraud following a two-day jury trial in Hammond, Indiana. The verdict was announced by United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred.

United States District Court Judge Philip P. Simon presided over the trial. Neely's sentencing is scheduled for October 6, 2026.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into the case. Assistant United States Attorneys Francis Sohn and Philip Benson were responsible for the prosecution.
