The U.S. Department of War (DoW) today launched the "Golden Dome for America Ecosystem Hub," a new digital platform designed to revolutionize homeland missile defense partnerships by accelerating industry engagement and streamlining collaboration with the commercial technology sector. Announced by Gen. Mike Guetlein, Director of Golden Dome for America, at the annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium, the Hub aims to build a next-generation, multi-layered defense shield.
Accessible immediately at hub.goldendome.mil, the platform serves as a unified entry point for traditional defense contractors, commercial tech companies, venture capitalists, academic institutions, and nontraditional entrepreneurs. It is intended to remove legacy organizational barriers and deliver innovative capabilities at market speed.
Gen. Guetlein emphasized the necessity of this shift, stating, "To defeat a new generation of sophisticated, maneuvering aerial threats, we must build a defensive shield that adapts faster than the adversary." He added that the initiative cuts bureaucratic red tape, harnesses innovation through partnerships, and aims to dismantle "historical walls separating commercial innovation from national defense."
The Director also highlighted a commitment to fiscal accountability for the $185 billion Golden Dome program, leveraging commercial-off-the-shelf technologies and fostering competition to drive down costs. The Hub's key features include direct engagement and rapid submissions for innovators, alongside transparent demand signals providing real-time visibility into program capability gaps. This strategy also aims to strengthen the supply chain, encourage multi-vendor participation, and build a resilient industrial base.
Guetlein urged all interested defense contractors, commercial tech firms, research laboratories, and nontraditional entrepreneurs to register their organizations and submit capability overviews on the new platform.
