Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Springfield that resulted in one death and two injuries. The incident occurred yesterday, June 9, 2026, at 3:18 p.m. on Old Keene Mill Road near Tiverton Drive.

The crash involved a 2025 Toyota Camry. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver, 49-year-old Charity McGhee of Alexandria, was traveling eastbound when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail. McGhee was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An adult male passenger was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while a second adult male passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Two dogs in the vehicle were taken into custody by the Fairfax County Department of Animal Services. Speed is believed to be a factor, and detectives are investigating if alcohol also contributed to the crash.
