A St. Louis convicted felon, Anthony Watkins, pleaded guilty on Monday to multiple charges, including selling nearly two pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover federal agent and possessing significant quantities of drugs and firearms.
Watkins, 37, admitted in U.S. District Court to seven counts, including four counts of methamphetamine distribution and one count each of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine. He also pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He sold a total of 814 grams (approximately 1.8 pounds) of meth to an undercover agent on four separate occasions between June and August 2024.
During a court-approved search of Watkins’ home on September 4, 2024, federal agents discovered about 3.1 pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of cocaine, a stolen .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, a 9mm pistol, and an AR-style rifle. As a convicted felon, Watkins is legally prohibited from possessing any firearms.
Watkins is scheduled for sentencing on September 24. This prosecution is part of the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) initiative, a multi-agency partnership dedicated to combating criminal organizations and their activities, including drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession, within the United States.
