Amazon's Editorial Staff is reporting that its list of must-read books for 2025 is out, showcasing a variety of genres and authors. The list includes Patrick Ryan's "Buckeye," a Read with Jenna Pick, and Kiran Desai's "The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny," which is shortlisted for the 2025 Booker Prize. Dan Brown's latest thriller, "The Secret of Secrets," also makes the list, along with Virginia Evans's "The Correspondent."
According to Amazon, Omar El Akkad's "One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This," winner of the 2025 National Book Award in Nonfiction, is featured, as well as Nina Willner's "The Boys in the Light." Martha Beck's "Beyond Anxiety" and Samin Nosrat's "Good Things" are also highlighted. Fiona Davis's "The Stolen Queen" and Charlie Mackesy's "Always Remember" round out the list.
Amazon said Mel Robbins's "The Let Them Theory" and John Grisham's "The Widow" are included, along with Matt Dinniman's "Dungeon Crawler Carl" and Beth Macy's "Paper Girl." Taylor Jenkins Reid's "Atmosphere" and Gabrielle Hamilton's "Next of Kin" also appear on the list. Samantha Sotto Yambao's "Water Moon" and Oyinkan Braithwaite's "Cursed Daughters" are mentioned, as well as Renée Rosen's "Let's Call Her Barbie" and Kevin Sack's "Mother Emanuel."
Elizabeth Gilbert's "All the Way to the River" and Stephen Curry's "Shot Ready" are also highlighted, along with Andrew Ross Sorkin's "1929" and Brené Brown's "Strong Ground." Zadie Smith's "Dead and Alive" and Grady Hendrix's "Witchcraft for Wayward Girls" are featured, as well as Holly Jackson's "Not Quite Dead Yet" and Suleika Jaouad's "The Book of Alchemy." Matthew McConaughey's "Poems & Prayers" and Brian Goldstone's "There Is No Place for Us" are also included.
Ocean Vuong's "The Emperor of Gladness," Caroline Fraser's "Murderland," and Carley Fortune's "One Golden Summer" are mentioned, along with Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle's "We Can Do Hard Things." Alafair Burke's "The Note" and Han Kang's "We Do Not Part" are also featured. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's "Dream Count" and Ali Hazelwood's "Problematic Summer Romance" are included, as well as Megha Majumdar's "A Guardian and a Thief" and Charlotte Wood's "Stone Yard Devotional." Katie Kitamura's "Audition," Laurie L. Dove's "Mask of the Deer Woman," and Sophie Elmhirst's "A Marriage at Sea" are also highlighted.
Amazon said Abdulrazak Gurnah's "Theft," Ashley Flowers's "The Missing Half," and Georgia Hunter's "One Good Thing" are on the list, as well as Emily Henry's "Great Big Beautiful Life" and Geraldine Brooks's "Memorial Days." Tina Knowles's "Matriarch" and Ron Chernow's "Mark Twain" complete the list.
