Newsweek is reporting that internal records show Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has 148 "open allegations" of agent misconduct and potential criminal wrongdoing over the last three years. It said these allegations include sexual assault, bribery, drug smuggling, domestic violence, drunk driving and misuse of government computers. The records cover fiscal years 2023, 2024 and 2025, spanning both President Joe Biden's and President Donald Trump's administrations.
Newsweek also reported that the United States Mint website experienced a waiting list Wednesday morning following the release of a new $1 commemorative coin featuring President Donald Trump's portrait.
In other news, Newsweek is reporting that the jury in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has twice informed the judge it is deadlocked. Jurors have been deliberating for five days in the Massachusetts trial, considering whether Clancy was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three young children. Her defense argues she suffered from severe postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors contend she was criminally responsible.
Additionally, Newsweek said the Justice Department's Antitrust Division has expanded its investigation into soaring consumer beef prices to include eight major U.S. retailers, such as Walmart. It noted that beef prices have risen approximately 10 percent over the past year, with the Trump administration intensifying efforts to lower costs.
