The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) today marks 53 years of enforcing the nation's controlled substance laws and regulations, dedicated to public safety since its founding in 1973.
This year alone, DEA efforts have resulted in significant seizures, including 171,167 pounds of cocaine and 16.47 million fentanyl pills.
Since the 1980s, the agency has also made over one million domestic arrests in support of its ongoing mission to combat drug crime.
