Two Monroe County men, Eli Valentine Calero, 44, of East Stroudsburg, and John Charles Ehrhard, Jr., 57, of Stroudsburg, were found guilty of drug trafficking and firearms offenses following a five-day jury trial.
According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, the jury convicted Calero and Ehrhard of conspiring to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine between 2024 and 2025. Calero was also found guilty of possessing with intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine. Ehrhard faced additional convictions for five counts of distributing methamphetamine and possessing a firearm as a prohibited person.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Deputy Criminal Chief Jenny P. Roberts and First Assistant John Gurganus. This effort is part of "Operation Take Back America," a nationwide initiative targeting illegal immigration, cartels, and violent crime.
The defendants face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of lifetime imprisonment, along with supervised release and a fine. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
